Undoubtedly the evolution of institutions is directly related to the planning and capacity of their pipelines.
For us doctors, who for years have been linked to the societies that bring together scientific, academic and professional interests in different specialties, this reality poses a great challenge.
Until not long ago, becoming a leader in these institutions meant nothing more than enjoying a certain academic prestige, accompanied by some qualities of leadership, associated with friendly links and chronology, generally marked by the "it's already time and so much already I have to occupy a certain position "..., does not mean this at all, that under these circumstances have not emerged prominent leaders, who were considered pioneers for our Societies or Federations.
However, today times have changed and the trend is towards professionalization and the search for excellence in management; we must add to the aforementioned requirements, the preparation that allows us to develop the skills and competences that will assure our institutions the elaboration of projects that dynamize and enhance them over time, as true entities that perform the leadership in their sector, generating strategic alliances that expand their field of action.
All this entails effort and dedication, where imbued with a corporate spirit, we are willing to privilege over the personal interests, the institutional requirements and from these unrenounceable principles, we undertake a rigorous preparation that allows us to access the managerial positions, with projects methodologically developed, which with the consensus of the peers that make up the work teams, will undoubtedly result in the general good.
FLASOG has for some time undertaken this path, through Strategic Planning carried out and shared with all the Societies and Federations that compose it, in the idea that by making our institutions great, we will be able to distinguish and highlight their members. For this purpose, within the structure of the Federation, different Functional Areas (Academic and Scientific, Prevention of Women's Health, Professional Development and Organizational Development) have been functioning; it is precisely in the Organizational Development Area that the Executive Development Committee has been created, which is dedicated to providing the necessary tools to provide all those who aspire to be a leader in the Federated Societies and therefore to the future of FLASOG,
In that direction, in 2017, the first Diploma of Development of Management Skills was issued through FLASOG, and in the current year a second diploma is being developed, specifically for aspects related to the functions of President, Secretary and Treasurer. . We believe that this is the way and we hope that with time, each and every one of our Societies will incorporate this work philosophy, which without any doubt will make them stronger and this will empower all of Latin America, in order to ensure the health of our women and the professional practice of all colleagues.
